With the opening of the new extension, launched in May 2017, Oriocenter becomes the leading shopping mall in Italy in terms of size and range of offer, as well as one of the largest malls in Europe. In keeping with its “Big and Unique” identity, the shopping center boasts an area of 105,000 m2, housing 300 shops, more than 50 restaurants and cafés, a 14-screen multiplex cinema, including the largest IMAX screen in Europe, a hypermarket and more than 7,000 parking spaces.

Oriocenter provides a particularly wide and varied offer: 40% fashion, clothing and underwear brands, 20% dining, 15% health and beauty goods, 8% household and leisure, 5% footwear, 4% electronics, 4% sporting goods and 4% other services.

Inaugurated in 1998, Oriocenter was promoted by Antonio Percassi on the model of the American shopping mall. It was such a successful format that in 2004 a first extension was completed, bringing the total area to 75,000 m2 and some 200 stores.

Leasing efforts were concentrated on achieving a premium brand offer – the only one of its kind in a full-price mall – and an exclusive and innovative merchandising mix
(Big and Unique), including, among others, Emporio Armani, Coach, Hugo Boss, Baldinini, Michael Kors, Furla, Weekend di Max Mara, Twin Set, Elisabetta Franchi, Lacoste, Liviana Conti, & Other Stories, Sandro and T-Trussardi. A number of brands chose Oriocenter for their first Italian store: wagamama, a popular Japanese restaurant chain founded in London in 1992 (first restaurant in Italy); Under Armour, the American sportswear brand; Thule, the Swedish transportation solutions giant (first leather goods store in Europe).

The uniqueness of Oriocenter is also evident in the new Food Court. Arranged on two floors, it comprises 21 new food services (50 overall, divided in two food courts) and 800 seats. In particular, the Food Court on the first floor – where many of the new food retailers are located – was designed by London studio Softroom and features striking architectural details and wooden arches that allow natural light into the area, creating a warm and enchanting atmosphere that has transformed Oriocenter into a food destination in its own right.
